What the app stores
Worlds Apart stores the people, groups, places, time zones, contact hours, ordering, and preferences you add inside the app on your device. This local storage is also used to support app widgets.
Effective July 31, 2026
Worlds Apart is designed to help you understand time zones for the people and places you care about, without requiring an account or collecting a profile about you.
Worlds Apart stores the people, groups, places, time zones, contact hours, ordering, and preferences you add inside the app on your device. This local storage is also used to support app widgets.
Worlds Apart does not require you to create an account. We do not operate a user account system for the app.
Worlds Apart uses Apple Weather (WeatherKit) to show forecasts. When the app requests weather, the coordinates of the city or place being displayed are sent to Apple so Apple can return the forecast. Apple processes that request under its privacy policy. Worlds Apart does not operate a server that receives or stores these requests.
Location access is optional. If you choose Auto-Detect, Appleās iOS location services are used to identify your current city and time zone. Worlds Apart does not continuously track you or store your raw live location. You can instead choose a city manually.
App information and any temporary weather cache are kept locally on your device for as long as needed to provide the app and its widgets. Delete a saved person or place inside Worlds Apart to remove that entry. Deleting the app removes its locally stored app and widget data. Worlds Apart has no user account or remote profile to delete.
You can stop location access at any time in iOS Settings under Privacy & Security, Location Services, Worlds Apart. The app can continue to work with a city you select manually.
The bundled city catalog contains adapted data from GeoNames, licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License. Worlds Apart filters the source data and may adapt display names, country labels, search labels, and ordering. GeoNames does not endorse Worlds Apart.
Good Time, Maybe, and Quiet Hours are generated from local time, day of week, relationship type, and optional contact hours. They do not indicate live availability, calendar status, or whether someone can actually be reached.
Worlds Apart does not contain advertising, third-party analytics, or cross-app tracking, and we do not sell personal information. If this changes in the future, this policy and the App Store privacy details will be updated before the change is introduced.
